The Neighborhood Vacancy Initiative helps local residents and community-based organizations with vacant, abandoned, and blighted housing in St. Louis City. This program will help stabilize neighborhoods and create more affordable housing.
We help low-income residents with title issues and older homeowners pass on their homes through transfer-on-death (beneficiary) deeds to avoid vacancy.
Title clearance to promote affordable housing
We help City agencies and nonprofits to clear land titles to buy land for development of affordable housing projects.
Problem property issues
We help community groups and neighborhood associations file lawsuits about vacant, run-down properties to make the owner sell or repair the property, or to take control of abandoned property for repairs.
We help community groups and neighborhood associations to incorporate as a non-profit. We also provide free workshops and informational sessions for neighborhoods.
Services currently available only in the City of St. Louis
This initiative partners with:
the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and
