Marketing & PR Chair

Lee is a staff attorney with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, practicing in the Housing Law Program. His practice focuses on assisting indigent clients resolve various property issues throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area.

Lee graduated from the Saint Louis University School of Law in 2014.

During his time in law school, Lee was a law clerk in LSEM's Housing Law Program. He is an active member of BAMSL and the American Bar Association.

"LSEM strives to ensure equality of justice for our most vulnerable citizens in eastern Missouri. It is a privilege to serve my community and profession through this necessary organization."


Michael Cherba

Michael Cherba is an Associate with Danna McKitrick, P.C. in St. Louis.

Michael attended Washington University School of Law, Where he received his J.D. in 2007.

He is a member of the Young Lawyers Section Council of the Missouri Bar, serves on the Board of Directors for Willows Way, Inc., and volunteers his time with the St. Louis Arc.  Prior to his career as an attorney, Michael worked at the White House, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and Cassidy & Associates, in Washington, D.C., and at the Washington University School of Law.

“As access to justice becomes increasingly difficult for so many in our society, it is important for young professionals like us to participate however we can to ensure that all receive the representation to which they are entitled.  Legal Services’ mission is critical to the provision of high-quality legal assistance to those in need.  I am so proud to serve on the Board of the Young Friends of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, and to play a role in this great organization.”


Lara Gillham

Lara is currently an associate at Williams, Venker & Sanders, LLC in St. Louis, where she handles general liability defense work across a number of practice areas.

Lara graduated Saint Louis University School of Law with a J.D. in 2014.

She served an internship with LSEM’s Housing Law Program from May-December 2012, and was the Board representative for Saint Louis University School of Law 2012-2014. She is a member of BAMSL, the American Bar Association, and the Women Lawyers’ Association. Proficient in Spanish, Lara worked as a Rule 13 Certified Civil Litigation Intern at the Saint Louis University Legal Clinic. 

“I came to Law School to help others and LSEM has provided me with the perfect opportunity to do just that. I am able to help give the disadvantaged their voices back by promoting awareness of their struggles and demonstrating that LSEM's services can mean a world of difference.”

Special Events Chair

Will is an associate with Polsinelli PC, specializing in commercial litigation and probate, trust & fiduciary litigation.

He attended the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School, where he received his J.D. in 2008.

Will is also an annual participant in the MS-150 Bike Ride and Tough Mudder events, benefitting the Wounded Warrior Project.

“Coming out of law school I wanted a way to become involved with a cause and also be active in the legal community.  LSEM provides both.  I enjoy being part of an organization with such a great mission.”


Laura Halfmann

Laura is a social worker in the Lasting Solutions Family Law Program at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri. As part of the family law team, she provides survivors of domestic violence with support, information and referrals, and court advocacy in times of crisis.

Laura graduated from the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis with her MSW in 2010.

Laura is involved in the St. Louis Ending Violence Against Women Network (SLEVAWN), and a board member of the St. Louis City Family Violence Council.

"Creating equal access to justice through holistic services is greatly needed in our community. LSEM offers people the legal tools and support to find stability and success, and it is an honor to be a part of this mission."

Jacqueline is a partner at Herzog Crebs LLC in the litigation group specializing in toxic tort defense.

She attended St. Louis University Law School, where she received her J.D. in 2003.

Jacqueline is active in her church and the Compton Heights Band.

“In order to better our community and the world in which we live, we need to serve others. LSEM allows me the opportunity to serve others using my legal knowledge and skills.”

Washington University Board Representative

Netta currently attends Washington University where she is pursuing both a J.D. and a MSW. She will graduate in Spring 2017. Netta received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Southern California in 2012.

Netta was a law and social work intern at LSEM in the Immigration Law Programs in 2015.

 "I am grateful to LSEM, for not only allowing me to learn about and serve the St. Louis Community through hands-on experience, but also for offering me an opportunity to promote the organization through serving on the Young Friends Board. I am honored to be a part of an organization that is truly dedicated to providing equal access to justice."


Jason Sengheiser

Jason is a law clerk for the Honorable Robert G. Dowd, Jr. at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. He also teaches Introduction to Law and American Constitutional Development at Fontbonne University. 

Jason received B.A. degrees in Environmental Science and German Studies from Saint Louis University in 2000, and his J.D. from Saint Louis University in 2003.  In addition, he received his LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2006.

Jason is also active with the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.

“LSEM provides the invaluable service of attempting to ensure the truth of the words inscribed above the Supreme Court, “Equal Justice Under Law.”  I am honored to be a part of these efforts.”

Callie is an associate with Capes Sokol, where she focuses on business and commercial real estate transactions. Callie is also an adjunct professor at Washington University Olin Business School, where she teaches a course on the legal environment of business.

Callie received her B.S. at Northwestern University and attended Washington University School of Law, where she received her J.D. in 2011.

"Legal Services of Eastern Missouri plays a valuable role in the community by working to ensure equal access to justice and providing legal assistance to those in need. I am grateful for the service LSEM provides and for this opportunity to contribute."


Ryan Turnage

Ryan is an in-house counsel at Schnucks Markets in St. Louis.

He attended Saint Louis University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2009.

Ryan is also active in LSEM's Volunteer Lawyers Program, the Missouri Bar's Leadership Academy, and the Theodore McMillian American Inns of Court.

"Justice requires that all members of society are entitled to efficient, strategic, and zealous legal representation.  LSEM is a wonderful vehicle that provides this service to low-income people in Missouri."

Drew is an in-house counsel at Edward Jones in St. Louis. He is the immediate Past-President of the Young Friends of LSEM.

He attended Washington University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 2009.

Drew is also active in LSEM’s Volunteer Lawyers Program and the Friends of Opera Theater of St. Louis.
