CDC Anti-Eviction Order
Struggling with Rent? Afraid of being evicted?
In 2020, the CDC issued a federal Anti-Eviction Order. The Order prevents landlords and others from taking steps to remove tenants. This was recently extended through July 31, 2021 and is described as “what is intended to be a final 30 day (moratorium) period”. Certain conditions apply to obtain protection under this Order.
Most importantly, tenants must complete a declaration under penalty of perjury. The tenant must then provide a copy of this completed declaration to their landlord, property owner, or anyone else with the power to evict them.
A copy of the most recent CDC order for the extension of the ban on evictions can be found HERE.
